Hear from the principals, teachers, and students using Next Gen Math.

  • Next Gen Math has been instrumental
in the instructional gains we’ve made.

“Next Gen Math has been a great resource for us. It has been instrumental in the instructional gains that we’ve made throughout the district…In Compton, we’re growing faster than almost every other district…15% growth in three years and on track for another
    5% gain this year.

“…You can actually use [Next Gen Math] as your benchmark assessments… You don’t have to have teachers come together in writing committees to create assessments for you… You have a system that will actually do that for you.”
    Dr. Darin Brawley
    Superintendent, Compton Unified School District
  • Next Gen Math drove growth &
    changed our conversations.

“We see a ton of growth with our Next Gen Math assessments, and that’s great. But what’s most important is the conversation in my district has changed and changed quickly. We’re talking
about the expectations and rigor. My teachers are coming to me and going, “our curriculum doesn’t even touch the rigor in these questions.” [Next Gen Math] questions are much more aligned with CAASPP.”
    Brad Mendenhall
    Superintendent, Evergreen Union School District
  • Next Gen Math has been a game-changer for our school.

“… In the first full year we saw 10% SBAC math growth and our 5th grade students cut their distance from standard in half.
Teachers use the platform for warm-ups, check-ins, small group work, progress monitoring, etc. They use the real-time, actionable data to identify learning gaps and respond quickly with targeted instruction.”

“What really sets it apart is the ability to differentiate and generate endless variations of rigorous, standards-aligned questions. It’s not just more engaging—it’s more effective. I recommend it to any principal looking to improve math outcomes.”
    Keri Porter
Principal, Bonita STEAM Academy (K-5), LAUSD
  • 11th grade students gained 9 points in math proficiency this year.

We trained teachers and got buy in before using Next Gen Math intensively for two months leading up to the state test. Preliminary SBAC results for 2026 indicate our Juniors gained 9% for math proficiency…I appreciate how Next Gen Math ties the standards and the skills back to lower grade levels, so we can see where each student’s understanding is solid and where they start struggle.”
    Jeffie Esparza-Hickman
    Principal/Superintendent, University High School (9-12)
  • We didn’t have to wait for common assessments or benchmarks…

  • Next Gen Math takes a lot off my plate as a teacher.

“Next Gen Math has been such a game changer. It helps us quickly diagnose what students struggle with and identify the foundational skills they need. It takes a lot off of my plate as a teacher.”
    Guiseppe Basile
High School Teacher (IM 1, Statistics, AVID 9th Grade)
    O’Farrell Charter School
  • Next Gen Math tells us in real time which students didn’t get it.

“We use Next Gen Math for Problems of the Day as well as Quick Checks every Friday. The reason we like it is… the minute the kids put in the answers, you’re able to tell who got it or who didn’t get it. Next Gen Math then groups student by their results so we can help right away.”
    Carol Hsini
    Principal, Davis Middle School

  • Next Gen Math has been a game-changer for our school. In the first full year, we saw 10% SBAC math growth and our 5th grade students cut their distance from standard in half. We expect to see more SBAC growth this year…I recommend it to any principal looking to improve math outcomes.

    Keri Porter, Principal

Bonita Street STEAM Academy (LAUSD, CA)

  • The genius behind Next Gen is that we had immediate data. We didn’t have to wait for common assessments, benchmarks or the end of the year. We had the immediate data, so if students were not mastering the grade level standards, we were able to pull them out of class, send them to work with an interventionist at that time, and master the grade level standards.

Patrick Sullivan, Director of Special Projects

    Compton Unified School District (CA)

  • Next Gen Math! YOU did it again! These are amazing and will really help students continue to achieve in math at home! YOU Rock!

    Michele Dawson, Senior Director

Instructional Tech and Innovation for Compton Unified School District

  • The home lessons save me a lot of time, and I love the focus on the major standards!

    Joyce Nishikawa, 4th Grade Teacher

    Inglewood Elementary

  • If you really think about it, most teachers are constantly looking for resources, but they can’t find very well-aligned resources. One of the things that we focus on is that alignment between curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and Next Gen Math does a wonderful job of doing that for teachers….Next Gen Math has [also] done an excellent job of aligning the academic vocabulary necessary for students to do well. And the gains that Compton Unified School District has made over the years have proven that.

    Supt. Dr. Darin Brawley

  • This is my second year using the NextGenMath platform for math intervention. The platform is easy for students to navigate, and students are able to immediately view results after each completed lesson. My favorite feature is the ability for students to view videos for problems they’ve missed and do additional practice problems. Lessons are aligned with CCSS for math, creating lessons is simple, and takes minimal time. The new Blended Learning/Individual learning feature is great to use for differentiation during distance learning.

  • I use Next Gen Math when my teacher gives us an assignment on it, or when I need more practice with math. I like it because it is very helpful, it helps me understand problems in a clearer way. I like how it gives us our results after we submit it and how it has a video showing us how to solve what we don’t understand. I also like how it gives us problems that we could easily access, so we could practice a standard until we get it.

  • I enjoy the ability to create standards-based assignments and assessments. They are super easy to make and assign. The data from student scores are broken down into the standards, so it is easy to identify which students need help and in which specific area.

  • Growth in Student Perseverance, Confidence

Next Gen Math has been an incredible support in helping teachers consistently expose students to high-level thinking
    and real-world problem solving
—not just during testing season. What’s working especially well is the increase in student perseverance. Students are becoming more comfortable explaining their reasoning, defending their thinking, and tackling multi-step problems with confidence.
    Shawnte Clewis
    District Math Coordinator, Compton USD

11% Math Proficiency Growth

Jo Mackey Middle School (Clark County School District, Nevada) saw a jump in student math proficiency as measured by the annual SBAC assessment. Principal Gary Bugash runs a Principal’s Math Challenge every year.
